The Milestones Ministry Team helps congregational leaders make the best use of resources that will nurture the Christian faith as well as help congregations reach out to others with the love of God in Christ.

This Making the Most of Milestones Ministry Coaching happens on-line and can help you be more effective and maximize the benefits to your congregation and families in the use of Milestones Ministry resources. Recognizing milestones in people’s lives allows them to experience meaningful and memorable moments that nurture them in the lifelong baptismal journey.

Every congregation, family, and individual celebrate milestones in their lives. Some examples are baptism, confirmation, birthday, graduation, retirement, loss of loved one, moving to another home or a senior facility, or getting a cell phone. The list is endless. Doing Milestones with a group or in a congregation brings God’s presence into the moment so that the person is given permission to talk about the milestone, experience a devotional word and have people pray and bless them. Milestones Ministry uses the Four Key Faith Practices in both the Milestone Modules and Milestone Moments. The Milestone Modules are used in the congregation to support child and youth milestones and adult milestones.  The Milestone Moments are done in homes or small groups to support individuals in their faith journeys in daily life.

This coaching includes three one-hour on-line sessions for up to three individuals that cover:

• areas of local assessment
• current implementation
• evaluation for future steps.

This process will help congregational leaders take strategic steps so that congregations and people actually do the Milestone Modules and Milestone Moments and talk about how it benefits them in their life of faith. The tutorial and training is part coaching, part consulting, and part teaching with an emphasis on helping current users with tips, effective practices, and learning how this valuable resource can best work for them.

The coaches are the Rev. Dr. David W. Anderson and Debbie Streicher who together offer over 50 years of congregational leadership training experience. David has served over a decade as a parish pastor, received his Th.D. in pastoral theology, authored five leadership books and numerous publications on faith formation and outreach, and has provided coaching and training over the years in several ministry resource organizations. Debbie has served over a decade on a congregational staff, and has been an instructor, curriculum writer and designer, and consultant for several different ministries over the past 30 years. She has had extensive practical experience with developing and utilizing resources for faith formation and leadership and has authored numerous publications for Christian Education and faith formation networks across the country.
