Who are we? 

We are a small four-person ministry that develops and provides vital Christian resources for faith formation and outreach to individuals, congregations, and community members. We provide a faith formation resource guide based on the Revised Common Lectionary. It can be sent for online usage and also can be given each week in the worship service. We also have faith discussion cards that help people speak the faith out-loud and have meaningful conversations. They are resources to use for cross-generational groups.

We also provide milestone event recognition modules and shorter moments as well as publish and provide church leadership books to help and guide individuals and church leadership with faith formation. All our products are produced locally in the United States, and our internet store currently provides resources to customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, South Africa, and Norway.

Why do we do what we do?

Why we do this ministry is answered with the first of the Five Principles taken from the Milestones Ministry Faith Formation Framework. We believe: “Faith is formed by the power of the Holy Spirit through personal, trusted relationships—often in our own homes.” The other four Principles truly expand on the importance of the First Principle.

For decades we have reaffirmed the biblical, historical, and modern research confirmation that faith is formed through relationships. Faith is a 24/7 reality for Christians. Yes, Sunday morning is a non-negotiable anchor in faith formation. However, it is not the only anchor. We truly need faith to be nourished regularly, especially in special times of need. And, that special time of need often happens at moments beyond Sunday, weekly worship. It can happen “when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise,” to quote Deuteronomy 6:7. Yes, the home is and always has been a central place to support the life of faith.

Therefore, it has led us at Milestones Ministry, LLC to be inspired to respond to your ministry with our own. And that means for us to support you with helpful resources, monthly check in with our E-News and regular posts on our Facebook Group Page. There are many other ways we offer guidance and support daily through emails, coaching, phone calls, and zoom calls. Our life’s work at Milestones Ministry is to equip you with resources and suggestions that help nurture the Christian faith every hour of every day, week, and year.

We have a passion for nurturing and passing on the Christian faith. That happens through personal trusted relationships that in turn make the gospel message available through those relationships. By speaking the faith out loud with others, lives are touched and the ministry of the church happens daily. This is our passion and reason for being.

What do we do?

We create and publish leadership guides and resource materials to assist development of faith formation in the home, congregation, and community. All our efforts affirm a conviction that a healthy church is a church that practices faith at home.

When did we start doing this?

In April 2014 Vibrant Faith Ministries chose to pursue more of a leadership consulting based ministry and decided to spin off the Milestones Ministry portion of their ministry into its own separate ministry. After some quick and hectic planning, Milestones Ministry, LLC was established on 1 August 2014 in the State of West Virginia. Former Vibrant Faith Ministries staff member, the Rev. Dr. David W. Anderson, and Associate for Vibrant Faith Ministries, Deborah A. Streicher, were working on revising and updating an existing Milestones Manual at the time. David has authored several leadership books available in our store. Debbie has hands-on experience working on staff in a congregation with a focus on faith in the home. And both David and Debbie have coached and done consulting for many years with congregations across the United States, in Australia, and in Canada.They became the Co-Directors and coerced their recently retired spouses to join them in maintaining and growing this new fledgling ministry.

Where are we?

Our company is located in scenic and beautiful West Virginia just south of Cumberland, Maryland. Our office is located in the basement of Burt and Debbie Streicher’s home. David and Gloria Anderson live in Roseville, Minnesota which is a lovely suburb of St. Paul.

How are we accomplishing what we do?

We believe that Milestones Ministry provides an essential congregational tool for faith formation and outreach in the twenty-first century. For the home, Milestones Ministry nurtures the Christian faith, strengthens relationships, and creates the kind of bond that promotes meaningful memories for years to come. We provide down-loadable files, CDs, discussion cards, stones and bowls, printed products, and church leadership books, coaching, and presentations.
